The World Series of Poker has announced its finalized schedule for its 2020 tournament, along with information about registration, as well as improvements made on the payout, much to the delight of fans and poker players across the globe.

One of the most exciting announcements was definitely the number of gold bracelets the WSOP is awarding this year, which is 101. This is the highest number of gold bracelets they will ever give out; 89 gold bracelets were handed out last year.

Out of the 101 gold bracelets, 87 will be held live at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, while the remaining 14 will be awarded through online events to players within the states of Nevada and New Jersey who are eligible to play on the World Series of Poker website.

Information regarding this year’s poker tournament has been released bit by bit since late 2019, and now, players and fans can finally access the full and final schedule. Previous announcements included information regarding the increases made to high stakes offerings, information on the value menu events, as well as the schedule on online events, among others.

Registration and payment processes improved

Apart from the finalized schedule, the announcement from WSOP also included information about registration and updates and improvements made to the payout process. Among the most notable changes is that, for the first time in WSOP history, in-person registration and payouts for events will be separated into different rooms. This will provide enough space to add more stations, thus reducing congestion and waiting time.

According to WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart, the changes made to the 2020 tournament would hopefully lead to a better experience for everyone involved.

Stewart said:

We’ve looked closely at several areas in the off-season and are dedicating new resources – technology, equipment and people – to aid in these efforts in 2020. These changes, in conjunction with better informing guests of the required documents needed to register, make us optimistic it can lead to a noticeable improvement.

He also added that these changes are attempts to

getting people in their seats and playing poker faster.

This year, players at WSOP 2020 need a Caesars Rewards loyalty card to enter into events. This card must be brought to the main registration area located in the Tropical Ballroom. Players can pay their buy-ins in the form of cash, debit or credit cards, wire transfers, or cashier’s checks that are drawn from the accredited bank account of the registrant.
