Beating a tough table of 281 seasoned poker players, Zack Mullennix has gone on to win the $1,700 main event at the WSOP Circuit Ameristar St. Charles. Chasing this marvelous event and now winning it has locked his position for the season-ending $1-Million Global Casino Championship. He took home with him a whopping prize money of $92,886. Originally from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Zack has seen some tough times in terms of money. However, he’s been on a kind of winning streak since last year, cashing about $300,000.

His previous big hit was the Seminole Coconut Creek, where he could only finish in second place. He says that the thing about Florida is that there is always some or the other poker event happening, and this eventually led him to play his hand at the WSOP Circuit Ameristar St. Charles in 2020.

Zack has been traveling for poker events for quite a while now and with the fortune that he has now collected, he has decided to take it a bit slow and settle in Florida for the time being. The life of a traveling tournament pro has gotten a bit old for him now, which has got him feeling pretty worn out lately. He plans on spending the next several months in Florida to simply enjoy his life and continue to play poker for a living.

From the shortest stack at the table to the champion of the $1,700 main event

The $1,700 main event of WSOP Circuit Ameristar St. Charles was an important tournament for Zack. At the beginning of the tournament, he found himself with the shortest stack at the table. Patience was the key to his win here since he slowly began to surpass his competitors. He held back each time, and in the end, defeated Kevin Waller and Brett Apter to finally face-off against Mark Koeln. Other than Zack Mullennix winning $92,886, Mark KoeIn won $57,410, Brett Apter won $41,404, whereas, Kevin Waller went home with a $30,369 prize money.

Zack Mullennix said:

Poker’s been everything to me. I started playing $1/$3 in Pittsburgh with literally $2,000 to my name. Buying in for 10% of my net worth, driving a beater car. It’s pretty amazing how far I’ve come in the last six years. I’ve been fortunate.

Before playing poker for a living, Zack Mullennix worked at Dairy Queen. He’s been very fortunate considering his journey from working for Dairy Queen for years to now winning heavy prize money at poker championships. While $92,886 is not the highest or the heaviest prize money that has been handed out to winners this season, Zack Mullennix finds his win pretty decent and fortunate and aims to win an even bigger hand at the $1 Million Global Casino Championship for which he has secured his seat for.

The 2020 Global Casino Championship would be the next stop for Zack

Zack Mullennix’s next poker endeavor would be to secure the first place prize money at the 2020 Global Casino Championship to be held in North Carolina this August. With expected prize money of $1 million, this event might just be the biggest poker event to be held in 2020. Chris Audrain is another poker player to lock his seat at this championship by winning the St. Louis leg with a total of 115 points.
