Nevada Casinos Picture Cashless Account Registration Approved

There has been some good news for casino gamblers in Nevada, as well as for the state’s casinos. The Nevada Gaming Commission has now approved the use of cashless wagering account set-up, which means that gamblers can now set up their accounts remotely.

While sports betting will still require in-person registration, this move will help to make life easier for those who enjoy gambling at the casinos.

Approval was given for remote registration for a cashless account just this week by the gaming commission, with the change being proposed by Sightline Payments.

A petition for the change was first put in by the company back in 2020 and a second proposal came in 2021. It was the second submission that was recommended for approval by the Nevada Gaming Control Board, and approval was given this month.

Keeping Nevada at the Forefront of Gaming

Following the approval of remote account registration, officials from Sightline Payments have expressed their gratitude, and they said it would help to keep the state at the forefront of gaming.

Omer Sattar, co-CEO of Sightline Payments, said:

We are grateful to the Nevada Gaming Commission for their unanimous support of this regulatory change allowing remote identity verification for wagering accounts in Nevada. Continuous innovation is critical to ensure Nevada remains at the forefront of gaming.

While this is definitely seen as a step in the right direction for the state, many are disappointed that the same rules will not apply to sports betting. At present, Nevada is one of only a few states that require people to register in person for sports betting, and this latest move will not change that.

However, some believe that this is an indication that Nevada may also move toward remote sports betting registration in the near future now that remote registration for casino accounts has been approved.

A Range of Benefits for Casinos Gamblers

The decision to approve this new process means that casino gamblers in Nevada will be able to look forward to a range of benefits.

One of the issues for gamblers at the moment is the time it takes for them to get their account sorted at the casino. There were many issues when cashless accounts were offered last year by Resorts World Las Vegas, as people were left queuing for hours to actually open an account.

As a result of the new approvals, gamblers will be able to open their cashless gaming accounts from the comfort of their own homes before visiting casinos. Digital identity verification is then used to set up the accounts.

Officials believe that the process will enable customers to enjoy a far superior experience, as it will save them a lot of time and hassle when it comes to creating a cashless account.

It could also encourage more casinos to provide cashless facilities, as they do not have to cope with droves of people trying to set up their accounts in person, which can be a drain on time and resources for the casinos.
