Online gambling in Pennsylvania has experienced a drastic transformation over the past couple of months. May 31st saw the first PA online casinos go live, and this week another major contender has forayed into the PA online sports betting market.

The FanDuel Group has launched the much-awaited FanDuel Sportsbook in Pennsylvania, in partnership with Boyd Gaming and Valley Forge Casino Resort. On July 22nd, they were approved for a soft launch and two days later, they successfully completed their website and mobile app testing. So now, sports buffs will be happy to hear that they are open for business.

FansDuel Sportsbook is the fourth in line to launch in Pennsylvania, after:

  • SugarHouse – May 31st, 2019
  • BetRivers – June 27th, 2019
  • Parx – June 27th, 2019

What FanDuel Sportsbook has to offer

The FanDuel online Sportsbook constitutes bets on all the major sports in the country including soccer, baseball, basketball, pro football, boxing, motorsports racing, and tennis among others. Customers have been given a plethora of betting options to choose from, including teasers, round robins, moneylines, parlays, point spreads, prop bets, over/under and a host of live in-game bets. Plus, with several payment options and being a user-friendly site, navigation, is simple and quick with just a few easy clicks.

FanDuel’s plans for the immediate future

While it’s too soon to make any forecasts about online sports betting in PA, it looks like FanDuels is positioned to come out on top. Reason being, that their FanDuels Sportsbook in New Jersey is leading in online betting in the state, having brought in a total of revenue of $45 million in 2019 till date, thanks to the great user experience it provides. Which is why it just might fare exceedingly well in Pennslyvania too.

As Mike Raffensperger, the CMO of the FanDuel Group explained in a press release,

We’re leveraging our expertise in creating world-class fantasy and sports betting experiences to build the best online sports betting platform in the state of Pennsylvania.

He went on to add,

We became the number one sports betting operator in New Jersey by focusing on the customer experience.

The company is also on track to start up multichannel marketing promotions across several platforms with a goal of increasing the popularity of its launch in PA. Besides featuring various social and digital media campaigns, and talk radio partnerships, the sportsbook has a brand spanking new T.V. advert as well.

Since legal sports betting was introduced more than a year ago, FanDuel has grown from strength to strength. In June this year, their online/mobile platform contributed to over half of its $4.4 revenue.

Plus, the FanDuel Sportsbook at Tioga Downs was successful at taking bets at in New York, and stakeholders have been predicting a launch of NY sports betting for some time now. It’s an exceptional facility with:

  • 27 video displays
  • 8 betting windows
  • 12 betting kiosks from IGT
  • 50+ customer seats

Both FanDuel and Rivers Casino have changed the landscape of betting in the Empire State by including retail sports in their portfolios.

But that’s not all. The FanDuel Group also garnered a multi-year sponsorship agreement with the Breeder’s Cup this month. With so many things happening at the same time, the company is unquestionably looking to harvest all the benefits of today’s fast-evolving sports betting environment.
