The Midwest based specialist games development company Hold Gaming Inc has recently announced the launch of its collection of skill based online casino games in the USA. The news comes as a ray of sunshine, given the murky landscape of the US online gambling market.

For years, igaming has been a contentious issue in America. With the exception of a handful of states, most others have banned or either restricted online gambling due to its lack of regulatory clarity.

But, with the entrance of the casino games by Hold Gaming, things are expected to change.

Games that put everyone on an equal footing

One of the reasons for US state governments hesitating legalization of online gambling is the belief that online games are luck-based. But according to Hold Gaming Founder & CEO Phillip Runyan, the new set of games has nothing to do with fluke or luck.

The games are all skill-based, with the skills being knowledge of mathematics. According to Runyan, anyone who has a fundamental grasp about probability can be brilliant at these games. This, he believes, will be a huge hit with the millennial market, given how it combines traditional gaming with math-backed practical theories.
The company plans to release the casino games across all 40 states in the US, and they have been very particular about developing and administering the games according to regulatory requirements.

The skill-based games have been created specifically to address the needs of players who want an online gambling experience, but who aren’t keen on trying their hand at sports betting.

Player privacy of the highest import

Each of the games developed by Hold Gaming have been designed, keeping in mind know-your-customer (KYC) and anti-money laundering (AML) requirements. Players need to verify themselves, their age, and their location, and only then will they be allowed to play. There is even a feature for GPS spoofing, which adds further security to the games. All safety and security features are very non-intrusive and hassle-free to implement.

The games have already been released on the company’s website. But work is in progress to introduce them to other platforms like mobile. Recently, the company pitched a proposal to Apple to develop an application for their games on the App Store. Just as they had expected, the company said yes.
When asked how Apple, which usually steers clear of such businesses, said yes, Runyan had this to say

Typically, when these things really are operating in a grey space, (Apple) will just go, ‘you know what, we don’t want to touch it’ and they with open arms greeted us, we made very strong, compelling arguments about our gameplay and why it is skill-based.

The company’s very first game – Blackjack Fire – is already available on the App Store and sees a 20,000+ installation. The game has already given out prize money worth $10,000 USD in just four months since its release.

Sights on other markets

With the US operations already underway, Hold Gaming Inc has its eyes on overseas markets. The company has recently entered the Australian market and has released its suite of games. It plans on entering the Canadian market, too, which has regulations similar to that of America.
