Las Vegas Welcome Sign with the LGBTQ+ Flag Colors LGBTQ+ Gaming Hotel

A boutique gaming hotel that caters to the LGBTQ+ community is set to open this fall. The Queen Las Vegas will be located on S. Las Vegas Boulevard, which is situated north of the famous Las Vegas Strip.

It will form part of the 100-room Thunderbird Hotel complex and will be operated by Q Group Hospitality. The hotel will take up 28 rooms of the Thunderbird Hotel.

The CEO of Q Group Hospitality, Eduardo Cordova, is known for his promotion of LGBTQ+ nightlife and events in the area. The rooms in the hotel will cater specifically to people within the LGBTQ+ community and will offer a gaming area, bar and restaurant, and a nightclub.

Cordova said:

It has been my mission to create a vibrant and inclusive entertainment district for our LGBTQ+ community, and I’m thrilled to announce that Q Hospitality Group has secured a prime location … to create the gayest destination in Las Vegas.

There will be daily drag performances at the new venue, with DJs, brunch and dinner bookings, resident queens, and a glam nightclub with tens of thousands of LEDs. Guests will be able to enjoy a wide range of dishes and cocktails as well as exciting entertainment options at the new boutique hotel.

Rooms at Thunderbird Hotel Being Reduced

In order to accommodate the new hotel, the number of rooms available at the Thunderbird Hotel will be reduced from 100 to 72. However, the Thunderbird Hotel will remain operational as it is now, just with a smaller allocation of rooms.

While the Thunderbird Hotel has proven popular among those who are looking for comfortable yet budget accommodation, one thing that it has not been able to offer is access to gaming facilities.

The opening of the new hotel within the Thunderbird Hotel complex means that there will now be gaming available, as the gaming license owned by Q Hospitality means that the group can offer a small gaming lounge.

Officials have not yet specified an exact date for the opening of the new hotel and gaming facility, although they are working hard to get it open as soon as possible. At present, they have only confirmed that it should be opening at some point in the fall.

Creating New Jobs in the Area

One of the added benefits of the opening of the new facility is that it will create more jobs in the area, which is good news when it comes to employment figures. The Queen Las Vegas has already held a job fair with a view to putting together a team ready for the opening of the facility.

Among the jobs the hotel has been hiring for are servers, kitchen staff, bartenders, and managers. More positions could become available once the facility has opened based on its popularity and its needs as it moves forward.

The Queen Las Vegas website described the facility as being ‘the gayest destination on the Strip’, although some have been quick to point out that it is not actually on the main Strip.
