Motown’s legendary soul diva, platinum-selling artist and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame icon, Martha Reeves, and Las Vegas Sands’ casino executive, Neil Miller, will both receive The Casino Entertainment Legend Awards in October this year.

The award, which honors lifetime achievement in the Casino Entertainment Industry, will be conferred at the 7th annual Casino Entertainment Awards (CEA). Sponsored by Global Gaming Expo, the ceremony is scheduled to take place in Vinyl at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas on Wednesday, the 16th of October from 6 pm to 8:30 pm.

Casino Entertainment Awards are the official awards that honor casino artists and entertainment executives and venues nationwide. Debuting in 2013, the two-hour entertainment extravaganza features a Celebrity Red Carpet and a pre-show reception. Spread across nine categories, this year’s awards have been chosen from over 1,500 online nominations.

Martha Reeves

For over 50 years, Martha Reeves has reigned supreme as one of Motown’s greatest artists. In addition to being a legendary R&B singer, Reeves is also an actress, author, and politician as well.

Much-loved hits from her widely acclaimed group Martha and the Vandellas include “Jimmy Mack,” “Nowhere to Run,” “Come & Get These Memories,” “I’m Ready for Love,” and the all-time classic “Dancing in The Street.”

Besides being a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Reeves also features in the:

  • Rhythm & Blues Music Hall of Fame
  • Soul Hall of Fame
  • Alabama Hall of Fame
  • Vocal Group Hall of Fame

As a former elected councilwoman for the City of Detroit, Reeves has also focused her efforts in helping recording artists, musicians, and session singers receive higher salaries and royalties.

Neil Miller

Executive Director of Entertainment for the Venetian and Pallazzo Resorts (Las Vegas Sands Corp), Neil Miller, will also be the proud recipient of Casio Entertainment Legend Award at this year’s ceremony. He is a seasoned entertainment executive and has an impressive portfolio in practically every facet of the live entertainment terrain.

For over 30 years, Miller has been responsible for developing expansive entertainment properties not just for casinos but for theme parks and theaters as well. In addition to previously being National Vice President of Entertainment for Harrah’s Entertainment Corp., he was also Director of Entertainment for Caesars World Inc.

In his current role with the Venetian and Pallazzo Resorts, Miller manages annual ticket sales of 2.4 million and a $50 million budget per year.
