There has been some more good news for Las Vegas casinos, which comes just after they were given permission to start operating at 100 percent capacity again. It has now been revealed that casinos will no longer have to enforce the wearing of masks inside the venues for employees or patrons as long as they have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The vaccination program has been operating in earnest since the start of this year, and huge numbers of people have now received either their first dose or both doses. For those who have had both doses, things can get back to normal in terms of being able to go into casinos and enjoy the freedom of not wearing a face covering.

Another Step Closer to Normality

Casinos across Las Vegas have already been celebrating the news that they no longer have to operate at reduced capacity or enforce social distancing inside the venues. This latest measure adds to the celebrations, as it could mean that more people will be happy to come out to casinos and spend money if they no longer have to wear restrictive masks while indoors.

Officials have said that this only applies to those who have received both doses of their COVID-19 vaccine, and they have urged casinos to ensure they do not cut corners by allowing the unvaccinated or those who have only received one dose to be inside the venue without a mask.

President and CEO of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, Mary Beth Sewald, said:

Not every employee or customer may be vaccinated, so we urge businesses to play it safe by continuing to require mask-wearing.

It should be noted that individual casinos still have the right to enforce the wearing of masks. At the moment, three casinos have confirmed that masks won’t be mandatory. These are the Wynn Las Vegas, The Cosmopolitan and Encore.

A New Way of Life

Over recent months, wearing a mask while inside public places has become a new way of life for people across the country. While many dislike wearing a face covering, this is something that they have had to do in order to help reduce the spread of the virus.

For many, the ability to now cast their masks aside will seem strange because they have become so used to wearing face coverings in public. As more and more people become fully vaccinated in and around the Las Vegas area, mask-wearing could become a thing of the past as quickly as it became a mandatory requirement following the outbreak of the global pandemic.

Much-Needed Good News for Las Vegas Casinos

The latest round of measures to ease restrictions inside casinos has come as welcome and much-needed good news for the famous Las Vegas casinos. It has been a very difficult year for Vegas, with devastation caused by the pandemic.

In addition to casinos being closed for several months at the start of the pandemic, they were forced to operate at limited capacity until very recently. What’s more, other measures such as travel restrictions have had an impact on visitor numbers, which has also negatively impacted business for casinos in the area.
