GGNetwork has long been trying to establish its presence in the US poker market. As a step to increase their brand presence, they have signed Daniel Negreanu as the brand ambassador for their flagship online poker skin, GGPoker. This announcement comes in light of GGPoker being withdrawn from twelve markets – Belgium, Bulgaria, Colombia, Czech Republic, Georgia, Greece, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Switzerland.

Even if they are not able to establish a good market presence in the United States, it can help them solidify their stand in the already existing European market. GGNetwork is also looking to expedite license approval for GGPoker. It is interesting to note here that since long, GGNetwork has been solely focussing on the Chinese and neighboring markets. With time, GGPoker has become the first exclusively English language skin licensed by the UK Gambling Commission.

With such strong-standing in the eastern market, the move to sign Daniel Negreanu as their brand ambassador comes as an excellent strategic move from GGNetwork.

Daniel Negreanu – From PokerStars to GGPoker

While GGPoker has become the second-largest international operator of regulated poker in the world, the first position is still held firmly by PokerStars. Till before the announcement by GGPoker, Daniel Negreanu had been working with PokerStars as their brand ambassador for over twelve years. After taking a six months break, which is the same amount of time for having parted ways with PokerStars, Daniel Negreanu is now working with GGPoker.

Daniel Negreanu has always been more than just a face to the poker brand. Having himself won six world series of poker and two world poker tours, Daniel Negreanu was announced the best poker player of the decade in 2014. This was also the year in which he was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame. He also conducts Poker Master Class where he teaches poker theory by videos.

Daniel Negreanu has always been an outspoken defender of PokerStars and has likewise decided to extend his contributions to GGPoker too. This is why a special promotional freeroll of $100,000 has been announced by GGPoker to celebrate the onboarding of Daniel Negreanu to the GGNetwork team. Daniel Negreanu will be a part of the final table online.

GGPoker is enormously proud to announce the signing of the planet’s most revered poker player, Daniel Negreanu, as a GGPoker ambassador.

GGnetwork still awaits the license to operate in the US

With the onboarding of Daniel Negreanu to the GGNetwork team, GGNetwork now has two powerfully capable brand ambassadors – Daniel Negreanu and Bryn Kenney. With a strong North American presence, GGNetwork is aiming to establish their presence in the Western market, especially the US, with much more strength now. This step can also be a way to try and procure a license to operate in the US.

Daniel Negreanu himself in a Tweet partially suggested that the run to procure a license in the US has been going strong now. GGNetwork has been quite on the uptake about complying with the latest rules and regulations. This combined strategy is clearly a move to procure a license to operate in the US since the US favors companies that have been complying with regulations in the past.

Although there are still many online poker companies that operate without proper compliance and/or license, GGNetwork is strongly adhering to regulations and trying to get a license. This is because payment processing to online players and advertisement of their brand online becomes much easier when one has a license. While all these strategies are still suggestive, it’ll be interesting to note how well the association between Daniel Negreanu and GGNetwork works for each other.
