Poker fans, you must know about what’s now considered the biggest poker ambassador signing-in more than a decade. It’s about the hall of Famer and the six-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu agreeing to represent GGPoker, which is one of the fastest growing online poker brands in the world.

He worked for about six months as a free agent before he signed a new sponsorship deal with the online poker site. The announcement comes from Negreanu’s Twitter handle, six months after he spoke about a somewhat shocking split with longtime sponsor PokerStars, with whom he had been associated for more than a decade.

Negreanu said:

In a very short time, GGPoker has really made a name for itself in the online space. Their last GG Series, you’re talking about $50 million in guarantees, up from $3 million the year before.

Why does the poker superstar join GGPoker?

It is certainly not surprising to see Negreanu landing up with another sponsorship deal, but only a few from the poker fraternity expected that the brand would be GGPoker. The company is relatively fresh in the online poker scene but has been making noteworthy strides in grabbing the attention of the enormous online poker playing community by providing big prize pools and a contemporary approach to online poker.

Negreanu also cites the various reasons why the poker room has grown so tremendously. It’s increasing prize pools, modern-day playing software, cutting-edge, user-friendly, uber-fun, and engaging mobile clients, along with the site’s integrated staking platform are reasons enough for GGPoker to gain so much prominence in the realm of online poker. He talks explicitly about how GGPoker took its flagship online poker tournament series called GGSeries from $3 million to $50 million in just a single year.

What to know about Daniel Negreanu?

Daniel Negreanu was nominated to the Poker Hall of Fame in 2014—something that marked his first year of eligibility. He has won six World Series of Poker bracelets, becoming the most recognizable professional poker player in the world. Negreanu was atop the All-Time Money List for four years. This list keeps a tab on live poker tournament cash until he was surpassed by high-stakes poker professional Justin Bonomo last year.

Negreanu’s rank dropped to third place, but he was still earning over $42 million in poker tournaments, even when Bryn Kenny leapfrogged him. He also provides MasterClass on playing poker. Not to forget, he is the main subject of a 2016 Netflix documentary called Kid Poker that tells his life story.

What about promotions?

Celebrating the signing of Negreanu, GGPoker will be offering a range of bonuses and promotions to players with the promotional code “Daniel.” Negreanu himself will greet the players with a promotional tournament.

Called the “$100,000 Daniel Negreanu Challenge,” the event will let players qualify for a nine-handed sit-n-go with the eight players who progress through various steps plus Negreanu himself. New players using the promotional code also get a 200% deposit bonus of up to $1,000, as well as $30 worth of entry tickets to the Challenge.
