According to recent reports, the temporary Hard Rock Casino Rockford ended its final year of operation with unprecedented revenue growth. Data shows that December 2023 marked a new milestone in the casino’s earnings, topping off a period of impressive financial performance.
Under the leadership of President Geno Iafrate, the Hard Rock Casino Rockford has not only passed its previous year’s earnings but has also managed to achieve some significant milestones. The closing of the temporary facility comes with a mix of emotions, with Iafrate describing it as bittersweet. He said:

Last year was a lucrative period for the casino, as it generated over $69 million in revenue, which reflected a significant increase from the $54.8 million recorded in 2022. This 26 percent growth was partly down to the casino’s increasing popularity and operational efficiency, according to officials. The Illinois Gaming Board highlighted December’s revenue of $6.5 million as a new monthly record.
The introduction of table games in April 2023 was an important moment for the casino, as it expanded its offerings and increased its workforce to over 350 employees. The casino went from six live table games to a diverse range of options, including blackjack, Three Card Poker, Ultimate Texas Hold ‘Em, Mississippi Stud, roulette, Mini-Baccarat, and craps.
Since opening in November 2021, the Hard Rock Casino Rockford has welcomed over a million guests from across the United States and from other parts of the world. Data shows that there was a 32 percent increase in guest numbers in 2023 compared to the previous year.
It was also revealed that despite a delay in launching sports betting, plans are underway to introduce it early this year. This will follow approval from the Illinois Gaming Board. The permanent casino resort, which is set to open in the summer on East State Street near Interstate 90, will span 180,000 square feet and is likely to become a major attraction in the region.
The new permanent facility is set to offer an impressive range of facilities and amenities, including 1,300 slot machines, an advanced sportsbook, and 44 table games catering to fans of blackjack, roulette, baccarat, and craps.
There will also be a poker room, a Hard Rock Café, and the Hard Rock Live event center, with the capacity to accommodate 1,600 people for live concerts or conference space. This will further enhance the visitor experience and popularity of the new venue.
With the opening of the new permanent casino, an additional 400 jobs are expected to be created, which will be a massive boon for the local economy. The new jobs are expected to be across a range of sectors.
