Earlier this month, Eldorado Resorts sold two Missouri casinos – Isle Casino in Cape Girardeau and the Lady Luck in Caruthersville – to Century Casinos, and now these two properties are officially under the ownership of Century. In the next few months, re-branding work will be done. Apart from installing new signs, the onsite restaurants will also get new names.

With the acquisition of these two Missouri casinos and one more in West Virginia, Century Casinos now own a total of ten gaming properties in North America. Andreas Terler, who is the Senior Vice President of Operations, Century Casinos, said that his company plans on building on what Cape Girardeau already has.

Terler said:

If you look at Broadway and the downtown area, these old buildings that have been renovated just give you a good feeling when you come in. Then you come down to this casino and you find that this is a wonderful property. Very well designed, so it was love at first sight.

He added that all 350 employees who are currently working in the casino would keep their jobs so that the change in ownership and the transition in branding and experience will be easier for the customers. Since it is a “very successful property,” Terler said that there is no plan to change anything and that they will work closely with the management to make the best decisions.

Re-branding process to be made meaningful

Century Casinos has installed more gaming machines, and according to Managing Director Lyle Randolph, more are on the way. Randolph explained how the change in ownership would affect the customer experience, saying that signage change will be followed by new layouts, new cards and dice, and finally, the new Players Club in the Spring.

Randolph expressed his company’s commitment to providing customers with a quality experience, saying that they want to choose “meaningful” names that will resonate with the local audience. They may even consider building a hotel on the property and having a buffet for guests since the space offers them plenty of opportunities to expand.

Although the casino’s attendance dropped significantly this year, the mayor of Cape Girardeau said that he hopes the change in ownership and re-branding will help them “bounce back from that decline.” He said that since this is Century Casino’s newest and biggest property, he hopes they invest heavily into it so that the business can increase.

More on the Missouri casinos

Earlier this month, the Missouri Gaming Commission (MGC) gave the green light to Eldorado Resorts to sell the properties – Isle Casino Cape Girardeau and Lady Luck Caruthersville – to Century Casinos.

Located in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Isle Casino Cape Girardeau is situated about 120 miles south of St Louis, Missouri. Opened in 2012, the property overlooks the Mississippi River. It boasts of a dockside casino with 41,500 square feet of casino space, 851 gaming machines, 24 table games, three dining venues, an entertainment center, as well as a pavilion.

On the other hand, Lady Luck Caruthersville is a riverboat casino, which is located along the Mississippi river in Caruthersville, Missouri. It was opened back in 1995 and consists of a dockside casino featuring 21,000 square feet of casino space, a 40,000 square foot pavilion, two dining venues, 513 slot machines, nine table games, as well as a 28-space RV park.
