World Poker Tour Starting Soon in Las Vegas World Poker Tour

It has been announced that the World Poker Tour is teaming up with casino and hotel giant Wynn Resorts Limited and will be bringing the WPT World Championship tournament to Las Vegas later this year. As a result of the partnership, the organizers of the World Poker Tour will be hosting the tournament at the prestigious Wynn Las Vegas in December this year.

The announcement was made in a recent press release where it was confirmed that the World Championship would be taking place between 1st and 20th December this year.

There will be more than a dozen tournaments throughout the World Championship, including a buy-in final costing more than $10,000. Those who enter the final could be in the running to win part of the stunning prize pool worth $15 million.

Highly Anticipated Event

Officials from WPT said that this is a highly anticipated event and will draw in many players who want to be in with a chance of winning big money.

Adam Pliska, the CEO of the World Poker Tour, said:

This is one of the most ambitious initiatives the WPT has undertaken in its 20-year history. We expect this to be a highly anticipated festival and are elated to be partnering with Wynn Las Vegas to bring this concept to life.

It was also confirmed that many of the events will be televised, including the final table of the Championship, which will be broadcast from the Esports Arena Las Vegas. In addition, the Prime Championship event with its $1,100 buy-in will also be televised between 8-12th December. This event has a guaranteed prize pool of $2 million.

Ryan Beauregard, who is the poker operations executive at Wynn Las Vegas, said that the WPT Championship event would bring in a minimum of 200 online qualifiers.

This is in addition to hundreds of other players who have secured seats through a variety of live satellites. A range of exclusive entry packages is set to be offered via ClubWPT.com, which will be the sole online platform for the event.

In a statement, Beauregard stated that the property was committed to offering its guests the best and most exciting experience possible. He added that this also included world-class service and access to a host of amenities and facilities. Beauregard went on to describe the World Championship as “a one-of-a-kind and must-attend event for both our current and new players.”

Great for Las Vegas Tourism

Of course, the event will also be great for tourism in Las Vegas, which has already been seeing visitor numbers rise following the devastation of the global pandemic. Many will flock to the destination when the tournament takes place, and this will benefit not only the main Las Vegas Strip and the Wynn Resort but also other local businesses in the area.

The influx of visitors will naturally be welcomed by venues and businesses in Las Vegas such as local restaurants, bars, and stores following the financial losses they experienced due to Covid closures in the last two years.
