There was more than the $1.8 million on the line for me. I was also playing to win CardPlayer of the Year. Not only did I make the final table, I did so with the biggest chip lead in WPT history and mostly cruised to victory from there.

Unlimited re-entry – good or bad?

While the unlimited re-entry rule has definitely helped them register a lot more players, there are still many who are not very fond of this rule. The World Poker Tour Five Diamond World Poker Classic is one of the most prestigious poker events to be held in the casino industry, and allowing unlimited re-entries have caused many top poker players such as Allen Kessler and Daniel Negreanu to oppose this. They have time and again mentioned that re-entries take away the thrill and charm of the game and should not be allowed.
