Rising concerns about the rapidly spreading pandemic Coronavirus is forcing the postponement and cancellation of major poker events all over the world, including the ongoing World Series of Poker Circuit.

Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood cancels Escalator Series event

Another poker event that was canceled citing coronavirus concerns was the Escalator Series held at the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood. The casino was in the midst of its third flight of events in the series when it was announced that the remainder of the event would be canceled.

According to the director of Poker Marketing for all Seminole Properties, Tony Burns, all players of the event who made it to Day 2 would be paid out following a chip chop percentage. For players who had already registered for subsequent starting flights that have been canceled, refunds would be provided.

The casino also announced that its Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown tournament series, which was highlighted by a World Poker Tour main event, has been postponed. The series was scheduled to run from April to May.
