Where to Eat, Stay and Play in Las Vegas This Spring Las Vegas Travel Guide

Let’s be honest for a second here. There’s absolutely no shortage of things to see and do in Las Vegas—there’s a reason it’s referred to as the Adult Disney World after all—and although the Strip probably doesn’t look too different from the last time you were in town, you’d be surprised by how rapidly bars, restaurants, and even hotels shift and change in Sin City from one month to the next.

There’s something to be said about tried-and-true favorites to go back and visit every time you’re in town—but with the rapidly changing entertainment and innovative food & beverage options on hand in Las Vegas, it’s worth looking into the new and noteworthy addresses that have popped up along the Strip and elsewhere each time you plan a trip to the city.

If you’re planning a trip to Las Vegas this spring, you’ll want to read on. We’ve curated a selection of addresses that each offer something fresh and new to the Las Vegas landscape. It doesn’t matter if it’s your first time or your fifth time visiting the city, the following bars, restaurants, hotels, and activities will ensure your time spent on the Strip is unforgettable.

Where to Stay

It doesn’t matter your budget or preferences—there is a hotel to suit every kind of traveler in Las Vegas. If you’re looking for accommodations that offer something a little different this spring, the following properties might be worth looking into.

Fontainebleau Las Vegas

Located on the former site of the El Rancho Hotel and Casino and the Algiers Hotel, Fontainebleau Las Vegas opened its doors back in December and has quickly become a wellness destination on the Strip. The luxury hotel is much more discreet and relaxation-oriented compared to some of the more whimsical properties in Las Vegas while still offering a sprawling 150,000-square-foot casino and a total of 3600 rooms and suites.

Wynn Las Vegas

Recently announced by the Wynn Las Vegas, a luxury destination for nearly twenty years, is an upcoming culinary festival. Scheduled from June 5 to June 8, the event will feature some of the top chefs in the industry. “Wynn Las Vegas is known for creating innovative, once-in-a-lifetime experiences and our inaugural Revelry festival will be no exception,” said Steve Weitman, president of Wynn Las Vegas. “The array of events coupled with the unique pairing of world-renowned chefs will offer guests an unparalleled culinary adventure.”

The Venetian Resort Las Vegas

Since opening its doors in 1999, the Venetian Resort Las Vegas has become one of the most beloved properties on the Strip. The second-largest hotel in the world recently launched its own loyalty program that spans across gaming and non-gaming offerings; members will gain access to enhanced earning transparency for slots among other major perks.

Where to Eat and Drink

It doesn’t matter if you’re craving Japanese omakase, Turkish breakfast, or, say, one of the most expensive hamburgers in the world, you can find it all in Las Vegas. The city was named “one of the most competitive cities in the world for cuisine” according to Gordon Ramsay—which means there’s always something new and exciting for foodies to uncover while in town.

Orla At Mandalay Bay

Renowned restaurateur and award-winning chef Michael Mina opened Orla At Mandalay Bay back in January—and it’s a Mediterranean lover’s paradise. “Orla is a culmination of my culinary evolution, a fusion of personal recipes that echo the flavors and aromas of my childhood in Egypt. It encapsulates the warmth, charm and vibrant hospitality of Mediterranean culture that has shaped my life and career,” said Chef Mina.

The Chef Truck

Remember the movie Chef or the TV series The Chef Show? Yep—it’s the very same chef who launched The Chef Truck at Park MGM Las Vegas. Chef Roy Choi and actor Jon Favreau admit that this passion project was a long time coming. “For ten years, Jon has been asking me to open a restaurant together and I have always said ‘no,’” admits Choi. “I know how tough running a restaurant can be and I didn’t want to risk it getting in the way of our friendship. But with Park MGM as our partner, I knew it was finally time to complete the trilogy. We started with the Chef movie, then came the Chef Show and now, The Chef Truck. It all feels right, and we hope everyone loves it!”

LPM Restaurant & Bar

The newly opened LPM Restaurant & Bar aims to bring the joie de vivre of the South of France to the Las Vegas Strip—and it’s succeeding to do so. The charming brasserie—which is tucked into the Cosmopolitan Las Vegas—offers modern takes on classic French fare as well as an extensive wine list that specializes in French rosés.

Things to Do

You could spend years in Las Vegas and still not run out of things to do and see. Here are a handful of standout activities to suit most interests, whether you’re looking for a spot to spend your hard-won cash or you’re ready to kick back and take in a show.

The Colosseum at Caesars Palace

The Colosseum at Caesars Palace is where you’ll find a lot of the visiting residencies that Las Vegas is famous for. In the next few months alone, The Colosseum will host Adele, Garth Brooks, The Killers, and even Rod Stewart and Jerry Seinfeld.

FlyOver Las Vegas

You’ve probably seen those posts on social media of folks soaring over the desert landscape in a helicopter—but, well, this isn’t that. FlyOver Las Vegas is a more budget-friendly and technologically impressive alternative that transports you into the desert sky from the comfort of a cinema right on the Strip. You’ll feel the wind and mist on your face, the flight motion seats will dip you and tossle you, while the wraparound screen will trick your eyes into thinking you’re really soaring through the air with the greatest of ease.

Las Vegas South Premium Outlets

Las Vegas South Premium Outlets offers slightly more budget-friendly shopping options than the high-end boutiques on the Strip—but it’s also worth noting that the sprawling shopping center will be debuting a massive 26,000-square-foot arcade this spring. The Round1 arcade chain specializes in bowling but the new space promises to focus on advanced gaming experiences to thrill even the most passionate arcade nerds.
